A few years ago, I was shipping a lot of items. I wanted a larger size tape dispenser that uses standard size shipping tape. The only ones I could find were over $50. I decided to design my own. I ended up making many of them as family gifts. They are especially popular for wrapping Christmas gifts.
I made them out of pine. I painted on the stain and did not wipe it off. I then sealed it with polyurethane. This is about the only finishing method that works well for me on pine.
