Project Information

Laminated benchrest gunstocks made from walnut, maple and cherry laminates. The top stock in the first photo was the pattern stock used to carve the rest of them. I'm going to make another one for a benchrest rifle I'm going to build soon. The customer who got the first 3 stocks sent me a 6mm benchrest barrel and I've been interested in building a 6mm benchrest rifle for several years. This stock design, with aluminum pillars and a solid bedding job, should make a rifle that shoots one hole groups.

Hi Hal,

Beautiful job on these stocks.

I made one way back when I was about 17 or so. I grabbed a piece of what I believe was hickory out of the barn and removed the stock off of a 22 rifle I had. It took me a lot of hour to do, especially since I didn't have too many tools, but it came out really well. In fact a friend of my father 's offered me $1,000.00 for it.

Too bad, when I moved to the big "city" it was stolen when my apartment was robbed.
