Project Information

I already have this chair in my projects, but I did't have totally finished pictures yet.

So here they are finished pictures setup in my "studio " lol

Customer picked up his chair last week and was very happy, I think he strapped the chair down better then his own kid, J/k kid was safe of course.

Truly stunning piece of work. The day will come when I try one of these…. Wayyyy down the line. If mine comes out half as nice as yours I would be tickled to death….lol

BTW… Out of curiosity whats the average amount of board feet needed to make a masterpiece like that?

Beautifully done!
For some reason, I never imagined lacewood as being "structurally sound" enough to build a rocker out of, thanks for the idea and inspiration!

I purchase 40 - 45 bdft, you'll use about 35 so having the extra is good for grain matching, in this case fleck matching.

The wood is strong, i've had a buddy of mine who is 300+ rocking to his hearts content

this looks great! I don't know this for a fact, but it seems that lacewood is strange in that to see the rays best, you want the lumber sawn as far from quartersawn as possible. Have you noticed this, or is my memory failing me?

Very nice - I can't believe you made it in lacewood - I just tried working with it and find it so easy to dent. What did you harden it with?

The pattern along the top of the rocker is great. Well chosen.

To me it seems there is much variety in lace wood / leopard wood, what I have seems to be hard but easy to sand and shape

Hal Taylor really pushes cho cho choosing the most pleasing grain pattern, important time is taken during the layout phase.

I'm currently starting a double lacewood rocker!

I wouldn't have been surprised if he forgot his kid at your studio. That grain is incredible.

You ROCK!

Pun totally intended.
