Project Information
Solid Mahogany finished with Danish Oil.
Story
I started these at least 2 years ago and finally finished today. Yeah!
His and her nightstands based on the Shop Drawings for Craftsman Plans book drawings with a few changes. I added a back panel to the nightstands so that books would not fall through.
Details
The sides are frame and panel. I cut the arch and then routed the groove with a slot cutter and berring guided bit. I tried to use the lighter colored woods as a design element by running it horizontally.
The rails are connected with dadoes and mortise/tenon.
The top was attached with pocket screws.
You complete me.
The two tops are cut from the same boards so that when arranged on the two sides of the beds the grain completes a pattern.
I love the grain on the front of the drawers. It shimmers.
The drawers are 3/4" front and back and 1/2" sides. 1/4" solid floating panel. Drawers run on wood runners.
I am going to buy glass for the top to protect from water glasses etc.
