Project Information

Last summer we had to cut down an Apricot tree in our yard that was diseased and also in the way. I wanted to make something out of the wood, so I carved this Kuksa. By the time I got around to the project the wood was very dry. That meant no fear of splitting but it also meant that I had to do the rough shaping with power tools and then finished it off with carving knives (a Morakniv 106 and a 164). This is my first carving project and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some green wood and trying out some spoons or maybe another Kuksa.
