Workshop - in my dreams - it's a garage with a leaky roof.
July 2010 … Hot news flash…
I've been thrown out of the garage - something to do with garages being for cars (go figure).
So now I'm in a store-room with a small door, a window that's 1 foot square, and electricity available via a 20 metre cable into the house. And I thought SWMBO would be pleased I'd finished the kitchen sink unit!
June 2012 … update…
A few months ago we had the ancient stables attached to the house fixed up. Oh, very nice it is. Much too nice to be a wood shop, so it just sat there used only by the cats.
So I decided, unilaterally (and I'm still paying for it) to move my workshop from the cupboard into it.
What a joy to actually have plug sockets in the wall!
On the left are the original animal feeding troughs.
You can see my tool (router in table, version 3), my workbench (aka ancient workmate), my dust extraction system (old cast-iron tiny hoover with hosepipe and plastic bag going outside), my clamp storage rack (no-way is she going to let me drill holes in the wall!). You can also see the cat-feeding tube (used when we go away). when the days get shorter I guess I'll have to put in some kind of light.
Update: September 2013
I guess it all got just a tad messier…
