Project Information

LJ Candy Frye helped me to remember that I had indeed made a walnut spaceship with copper leafing.

This one is smaller- about 3" in diameter and, with the finial, about 5" tall. It originally started out to have a small entry hole and just a finial topping but I messed up hollowing it. A large part of the top broke away. Cleaned that up and then made a lid for the larger opening. Used a Sorby texturing tool to do the spiral work. Then added the copper leafing. Gloss poly finish.

Thanks for looking!

Cool reference!
Great piece and a nice save. The texturing and copper leaf are a great touch.

When I saw the picture I imagined it to be a big vessel, so I was really surprised to read the size.
It makes it even more amizing, when looking at the details and the finish.
My nerves would be shaken making that thin top.
Best thoughts,
Mads
