Hello Everyone, Here are some pictures of my shop. It is an insulated pole barn 30'x40' and is in my back yard. I have an overhead heater plus I add a wood burning stove in the fall and remove it in the spring. I took pictures from each corner and a couple from closer angles. I enjoy making better ways of storing things and work on improving shop organization ideas.
I do have a whole shop dust collection system ran to all my major tools. The drop for the tablesaw, jointer, router station, and my planer is through a post at the right of my table saw. This post also has compressed air and electrcal inside. It was far better for me this way instead of running over the floor.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or want to stop by.
Thanks
KHOP

That's another killer shop. I wondered about the floor drain so I looked at your projects a you mentioned you had to level the floor to make the entertainment center which is outstanding I might add. I like the roll around tool boxes. I wonder if the floor tires out you feet. I have that sponge stuff and my brother can really tell that it helps. Your floor is real clean and neat. Welcome to Lumber Jocks and thanks for showing your shop right of the bat.

Bob, I do have the anti fatigue mats where I stand most. It does help alot. I wish I had installed the underfloor tube heat though. Maybe next time.
Thanks KHOP

Holy Cow! Please tell me you do this for a living and that's why you need all that space?

Otherwise, please tell me how you convinced your wife that you needed a fully outfitted 30' x 40' shop… I gotta get some pointers on that!

Kevin, I was a small (3 people) plumbing contractor. I built the shop in 1995 mainly for material storage. I have enjoyed woodworking for nearly fourty years. I semi retired from plumbing and now I have much more time for piddling. My wife loves the projects I have filled the house with. I've aquired my tools slowly and with much anticipation I'M NOT DONE YET.
Thanks

30×40. wow, thats awesome, thats the same size as my place, gives me an idea of what I can have if I can find it in myself to organize it, what type of paint did you use on the floor, is that a specialised epoxy?

Khop,

You have a beautiful shop. It is well organized and the space is simply wonderful. You have a nice set of tools to work with as well.

The only thing you are lacking is a kitchen and a bed. Then you would never have to leave!!!! :)

By the way I like your floor. I put the same thing in mine, although I do have some areas that are peeling now, and it does help lighten up the shop.

Thanks for the shop tour. I really enjoyed looking at yours.

Very nice shop, where do you keep the sawdust? You either hired several cleaning ladies before you took the pics or you've got a bad case of OCD. Just kidding, makes me want to clean up my messy shop.

Harry, A thicknessor? If you mean a planer, there is a Delta 13" tucked under a bench on a pull out tray.
Thanks

Well as Archie Bunker, once said about one of his plumber realatives, "You must have fallen into a royal flush!" Nice shop.
