Project Information

This is one of many Key chains that I have turned.
It was made out of a piece of scrap laying around my shop.I do not know what kind of wood it is
I like to turn key chains once in a while. I turn a lot of pens but turning a key chains allows me to be a little more creative with a piece of wood that is so rich in grain.

Love the design. I really like the contrast between the dark wood and the silver parts.

What finish are you using?

Keep it up.

That's neat. Are the metal bits a kit or do you make those too?

Good job!! Looks like Cocobolo to me, an oily exotic from Central America. Makes beautiful pens, file/screwdriver handles and KEYCHAINS!

Scrappy, I used ( HUT Glass Plastic Polish ) after sanding with 800 grit paper. That is what I use on my pens also.
Tootles, The metal parts are a kit like pen parts or a pepper mill ect. You can get them from many woodworking suppliers.
drbyte, I believe it was Cocobolo. I had scraps from turning a bowl that turned out beautiful. I need to take more photos of my work.
Thank you for all of the comments. be safe
