Workshop Information

Location
United States
I have a nice, but modest start.

Space: 9' x 13' sunroom directly off of living room. Noise and space are key considerations. Opens to large deck.

Tools in my arsenal (mostly acquired 12/10):
- Ryobi 10" Sliding Compound Miter Saw
- DeWalt DW618 2.25 HP Router with Fixed and Plunge bases
- Porter Cable 18v Cordless Drill
- Porter Cable 18v Circular Saw (purchased in combo with drill)
- Porter Cable Cordless Jig Saw (purchased separately)
- Black & Decker Mouse Sander
- 2' x 4' workbench (very simple plywood and 2×4 model I made myself, doesn't even have a vise - I just needed a place where I could get started)
- Various handtools I've collected for general household maintenance

Tools on my wishlist (no specifics yet):
- Woodworking vise (Thanks DB)
- Router table (which I'll build myself of course)
- Bandsaw
- Drill press
- Table saw
- Planer
- Joiner
- Pantorouter

You have a good start there. You mentioned you didn't have one, and I thought I would mention it, you really ought to add a good woodworking vise to that wishlist… My vise is probably one of my most used tools in the shop…

Right you are, I don't have a good vise yet. My current bench isn't exactly what I'd like (built in an afternoon as a place to sit things), and I'm looking forward to building a quality bench with a solid vise, bench dogs, and the works.

Adam, when you feel that you are ready to do so, how about posting some pictures of your shop? Tours of other shops are always welcome and well received.

Will do Scott. I already have some pictures on the wife's camera, I just need to get my hands on it again. I should probably look at getting my own. :)
