Workshop Information

Location
United States
My little workspace is in the basement of our 4 bedroom home. I hope to sometime move out and take over one of the stalls in the garage. I currently have a mini lathe, miter saw, benchtop drillpress, benchtop bandsaw, router table and a growing collection of hand tools with just enough room to turn around in. At least I don't work with big pieces of lumber.

The pictures show the small size of my shop space and my little helper.

After a little remodeling/cleaning I now have some room to walk around the shop. The last two pictures show the current state of the shop. (12/15/08).

  • Update (08/16/2010) New workbench built earlier this summer. Last pic is of the new bench.

Thanks for looking around, Michael

  • Update 11/30/2014
Due to a flooded basement this shop is no longer in use. Follow my blog posts as I rebuild in a larger space.

It looks like you have a nicely organized shop space in which to work and it great to see you with a "helper" as well. Sharing time together like this is wonderful.

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed visiting your shop.

Hi Kaytrim,

It is always a pleasure to see a father and son playing / working together.

That picture should be made into a poster, and placed in areas that may get some other father's to do some thinking.

Small but beautifully put together. You've used every cubic inch around that bench!

Thanks Martyn. I have made some changes to the shop since this was done. The biggest change is was to build a proper workbench. I am currently working on some new tool storage and organization and will bring this up to date soon.
