Project Information

With plans from canadianhomeworkshop.com I created this Treasured Chest for my oldest daughter's 16th birthday. Made with walnut and cherry, this (approx.) 12"x12"x6" chest was a great challenge.
I certainly bettered my skills with the curved drawer fronts and precision required for the drawer spacing. I also learned how to etch glass (Hint: it is easy) which added a very nice touch to the side compartments. One of the modifications I made to the plans was to cut all drawers fronts from a single board-leaving the grain to flow from drawer to drawer.

Beautifully done, I'm sure your daughter will love it. The grain-matched drawers really take this up a notch.

Really great work on this box. I have made several very close in style to this and can appreciate the work necessary to achieve this degree of excellence. I stopped making them when I had no one to give them to as customers did not want to pay the price. I hope you make many more as they can make you feel really good about your ability's.
