Project Information
This is a Jefferson Bookstand I made for a friend. It is a 5 sided bookstand - apparently Jefferson would use it to study multiple texts at a time. Sort of like having a bunch of browser windows open on a computer, except with books
This one is made of walnut and has breadboard ends for each of the book shelves. There are 5 of those total and each had grooves cut on the back to hold up the shelf. They all have hidden drawbore pins to hold the breadboard ends and these are on the back - except on the top one that I messed up and accidentally cut on the front!
This is built on a lazy Susan base and spins freely. There are small rare earth magnets in the base to hold the side shelves closed when not in use
Finish is Danish oil followed by vans beeswax finish
