Hi Hann Being from Western Canada I can say that this type of joinery is not common here. I think it is unique to Asian furniture, And rarely used in North America. That said some furniture makers here will copy Eastern joinery but they are rare. I think it has to do with the amount of time these joints take to make (Time is Money). If I do this for myself time cost does not mater.
But for business its critical. Translation is fine.

Thank you for ansering Ricoco! In my opinion most of the time you are right, but this day joints woodwork is more about representing craftsmanship rather than focusing on efficiency. And i just think maybe there is some rigorous translate books or information that I haven't come across yet. Anyway, I'm glad to know that I named it okay.
