Hi All!
I made these cutting boards for a friend and her mom. She told me she had a "star" theme in her kitchen and that her mom liked roosters, so these are what I came up with!
Both boards are made from cherry, walnut, and padouk. The star and rooster were inlayed into the boards using a scroll saw and sand paper…lots and lots of sand paper! I definitely underestimated the hardness of padouk when trying to make a 3/4" piece of wood with a fairly intricate design fit into the hole! Either way I am now taking donations for a nice CNC router if anyone wants to contribute!!
The boards are finished with multiple coats of mineral oil.
