Project Information

I was recently asked to build matching style shadowboxes for a husband and wife retiring from the Coast Guard together. It is always nice to get return business but even better when you get to see continued success for the client. Back in 2014 I was asked to build a hatbox for a newly selected Chief Petty Officer. You can see this hat box on My Projects page 7 labeled USCG CPO/Gunnersmate Hatbox. The now CWO2 (Weapons Officer) requested that I build her a shadowbox to match (Oak Wood / Early American Stain) her hatbox and also build a matching design for her husband who was a Chief Boatswains Mate. I was able to get a picture of his hatbox that he made himself and matched (Oak Wood / American Chestnut Stain) that as well. I enjoyed building these shadowboxes and I would like to wish both recipients "Fair Winds and Following Seas" in all of their future endeavors.

Very nice as usual. I had to look up the hat box you referenced and that was a great idea!
