Made these horse Cavaletti's for my Aunt who is a horse breeder. Made them from 4×4 redwood. Used galvanized bolts to hold them all together, and chamfered the edges with my router. They should serve her well for many years.
Those look very classy. I have a couple of CONSTRUCTIVE comments:
The crossbar is usually round or octagonal to reduce the sharp corner for a horse to bump his legs on.
Plan on replacing the crossbars as they seem to get broken often (and redwood is pretty fragile).
I hope you take these comments in the spirit they were intended.
gfadvm- I respect your love for horses. All of these points were heavily emphasized by my aunt. She has bred horses for several years and knows the ins and outs of all the care procedures and equipment. She guided me down the road, I just had the tools to put it all together!
