I was in Austin a few years ago, and I was impressed with all the big, ballsy, WESTERN furniture in the showrooms.

I think you nailed it, Monte !!!

Monte…that is a great entertainment center. You always get the right amount of live edge to get the "look" but still show off the beetle kill pine. If the beetles could see this they would start charging you a royalty fee.

Super! Did it include any hidden compartments, like under the lower floor unit? The addition could certainly add an interesting feature.

monte, this is just gorgeous, i love the live edge and the wood itself is so beautiful, i think you did a fantastic job, as to the finish, it will make or break this, i hope its nice and smooth, people will want to touch it, and its when they do that, if they feel smooth, someone will buy it, but if they feel rough, you might want to go over it and smooth it out…but i love it…

Love it. It takes a special eye to recognize the inherent beauty and the possibilities of wood. You have it. This is a fantastic piece and the planning and execution are flawless. (from the pics) Well done Monte!

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask, do you ever sleep?

This is one of my favorites of all your furniture! Something about the proportions just really appeals to me. Not to mention the cool BKP and the live edges.

Did you finish this at the Fair?

Whatever gets put on top of that needs to be transparent. It'd be criminal to hide that BKP! Thanks for sharing, Monte.

This piece reminds of of the furniture that Jack Hanna, famous director of the Columbus Zoo, has in his home in Montana. He had a lot of locally crafted pieces in his humble log cabin as these photos show!

Exceptional work Monte!

Amazing work Mr. Pittman as always. How do you do the back? Ship lapped?

Yes, ship lapped. I plane it to 1/2" thick. I go through a lot of wood for backs.

I'm cheering with the crowd! another Monte Pitman! what did you do with the drawers to make them work? I have pine furniture and the drawers often stick due to expansion and contraction re: moisture like the 80% were having now.
