Here's another box made from hickory, walnut, and walnut veneered panels. The keyed miters at 10 degrees makes the look of this box stand out. It is finished in lacquer and is lined in ruby red velvet. Thanks for looking !
Here I am just learning splines and you're doing 10* splines. Very nice work! The red velvet is a very nice touch. I always felt or velvet line the small boxes i make. They make really nice gifts and that added little touch is like an extra surprise for the recipient.

Nice box. I like the interior better than the exterior. I'm a sucker for a box with divided storage pockets. Plus that red just goes BOOM against those quiet colors.
Seems I just saw this box, with the overhang lip on the lid, and with a pinned backside. I like that style. Very functional.

Your box is beautiful! The Hickory, Walnut and the red velvet go well together. I also like the lid; give me an idea for my next tissue box.

That's a definite winner for certain. You made a great choice in the wood combinations. They compliment each other perfectly. Those angled splines are flat out wonderful.
