Project Story:

Adding to the growing list of Hat Making tools that I'm calling the "Artisan Hat Tools by Mark DeCou Studio" are these Wooden Pusher Downers.

They are also referred to as a Runner-Downer, depending on whom you ask.

I copied some old Antique tools to duplicate the size and shape, and then added a little "bling".

I make these little lathe-turned tools in my little wood-shop, one at a time. That simply means that they are not mass-produced, and each one is permanently engraved with my signature and the date.

Material Options:
The Material shown here is Hard Rock Maple, Black Walnut, and Poplar woods, with a signature "Abalone Shell" inlayed dot.

Any type of wood is available, just ask if you have a special request.

Display Stand:
If you want a bench-top display stand, either functional, or a collector style, please ask.

Shown in these photos is a simple black lacquer stand, and also a sculpted Walnut Collector-style display stand.

Also available are wall mounted racks, just ask. You want it, I can build it!

The inlay is a simple, but elegant touch. Thanks for sharing Mark.

the tool looks cool.
I really like the contrasting stand, it really makes it come across as utilitarian art.
