Project Information

Last summer decided to start making my own longboards. I got my hands on some nice veneer to use on the boards from a friend of mine. The boards are made from Hard Rock Maple with different veneers. Walnut, Cherry, and Mahogany veneers are on most of the boards.

Russ - this is the site where I ordered my Maple for the boards, and also the vacuum bag for applying the veneers. They have lots of great products and tips for board building. Good luck!

B13 - with the veneer, I made a template from masonite, traced on the shape, and cut it out with a razor blade before I applied it in the vacuum bag. The 'camber' of the decks is at about 1.5 inches if I remember correctly. I have sold most of the ones in the picture to my friends and other longboarders.

How long are they? I have always wanted to make a longboard. Reminds me of when I made myself a street luge though it was just made form construction lumber
