Project Information

I hand carved this Virgin Mary out of vintage wood piece that came from on old European door bottom. I went vertical with the design so I could use the grain as a design element for her drapery work on her tunic. I think it was some type of spanish oak that worked out . All this and Heaven too.

great carving. I like the minimalist style of the carving and how it integrates with the piece of wood you used.

A beautiful image. Part of series perhaps … beginning of a Crucifixion scene?
