Project Information

Pictured: Motorcycle Bandsaw Box, This design has been a big hit and a great seller, it was one of my first projects to branch out on in making my own designs, over time I've grown and progressed into making a better professional product and I have to owe thanks to members here on LJ's, great teachers among us. This box is made out of spalted hackberry and walnut for the center stripe, it offers a hidden drawer inside of the center drawer, it measures 11" x 5" x 4" and is finished in a single coat of tung oil and several coats of my own mix wipe on poly with a final coat of paste wax.

thanks for looking and comments are always enjoyed.

Your bandsaw skills are sick in a good way. I want some of that hackberry, seriously nice grain on every piece I've seen. Great design

That is beautiful, just stunning. I cannot say anything else. Congratulations on a great idea excellently carried out. I am going to Favourite this as a reminder of what can be done with a little thought and a lot of expertise.

Very nice looking box Randy. When you use the Tung oil do you find it takes a long period of time to dry…I sure have a hard time with it. Perhaps it's the heat around here.

Wow! I like it! I can see why that would be a great seller, or a great project. It's not too often that I see a project that attracts the motorcycle riders, This is it! Plus an all around great project! Nice work!

A huge thanks to everyone for your nice comments.

Larry I let my projects dry for 24 hours plus or minus or in that ball park, thing is I don't let the tung oil sit on the wood very long and don't put it on thick I just use the tung oil for the grain pop and coloration it gives, I do a quick wipe once I apply.

Grizz thanks and who knows your wish just may come true :)
