Project Information

I built this lighted gun cabinet from red oak with display shelves on each side. It was anniversary gift for a friends husband. After finishing it and delivering it to her I had to go get it and redo it, it seems that her husband was a goose hunter and the main body was too short to hold his goose gun. Normally on gun cabinets I use four feet as a general rule of thumb for the main body so what are the chances of running into a goose hunter?

Thanks! I never figured on a goose hunter either! It seems they have longer guns, I guess to reach out and get them.

It is always better to do things twice. You have an excellent chance of the perfect piece that way.

Sorry you had to learn the rule of the six "P's" the hard way.

Very nice! Good thinking on the dimensions and the overall design. However, it is not as secure as a steel locker or safe. I'm speaking from experience.

I used to have an Ithica 3 1/2" 10 gauge (yeah that's right) and I had to cut a hole out of the top of the cabinet to just fit it in! That was before I made my own. Very cool looking cabinet and excellent finish.
