Love the top…love to get some of that wood for a desk. Not a fan of the base, but taste is in the hands of the maker and you have a nice finished product.

My daughter's design. Not what I would want for myself. She's happy with it so that's all that matters :)

Gumwood is unappreciated, mainly because if creates the spiny nut shells most folks dislike. A neighbor of mine in Virginia cut down two in his front yard into 8 ft lengths, some were 40 - 50" in diameter!

I saw "free wood" and hired a woodmizer to cut up boards for me. I air dried them for a year and made some nice furniture from those boards and sold the rest. The colors and the grain are what appealed to me, and the wood is easy to work with…
