Project Information

This piece of furniture took me around 1100 hours to make. Carving and marquetry added to a piece of furniture can really take you back in time. When designing this piece I really wanted to add carvings to this piece of furniture without making it to busy. By adding eagle wings & the lions face and violin scrolls. Alone with marquetry of roses. This is the most enjoyable piece of furniture I've made so far.
Here is a link to some new pictures to the same Griffin End Table.

My goodness Dennis, this is fantastic! You've done an incredible job on this table. There are so many things I like about this. It's all exceptional…the carvings, inlay, marquetry, design…wow.

I have two questions. Is that cherry?, and What do you do for an encore after something like this?

Thanks for posting it.

This goes head and shoulders over craftsmanship. This is pure, unalloyed artistry.
Sir, my hat is off to you, with a courtly bow. Namasté.

I just noticed you too are from Omaha. Hard to believe I hadn't heard of you. Do you shop at Midwest Woodworkers? I'll have to ask Ann and Harvey, and Dewey Smith if they know you.
