Project Information

This is my first Greene&Greene piece, first frame and panel construction, first precise drawer - I have learned so much. It was inspired by Darrell Peart's Fremont Nightstand.

Materials - dark red mahogany, ebony for plugs and handle, cambia poplar used for a drawer body. Finish - Red Mahogany stain, four layers of wipe-on poly. All joints are floating tenons.

That's very nice! I'm sure Darrell would be impressed. Be careful, it's addictive. Have you seen his Arched Aurora Table?

FYI the Fremont Nightstand is going to be a Guild build with The Wood Whisperer coming in September. I'm on the waiting list to take Darrell's class next year!

Thank you CaptainSkully. I like all Darrell's furniture and would love to meet him in person. How can I get to his class, or at least on waiting list?! His site does not seem to have any information, and the mailing list is quiet. Ironically, I live within ~15 miles from Darrell - I would take all his classes if they were available.

Oh, and I guess Marc has significant influence on me - to the point that we take on similar projects at the same time :) I have started designing and building this night stand in February, and in March (I think) Marc announced his project. Couple years ago I was in a middle of building a cherry trestle table (the top was nearly ready) when Marc has shared his.
