Been playing with my mini lathe this weekend, the first 2 pics are of a bamboo pen. I picked up a bamboo cutting board for 3 bucks at a discount store Friday night, by lunch Saturday I had enough pen blanks for 10 pens and pencils. that my friends is a wood gloat.
The second 2 pics are of a perfume pen I made for my better half. I used some scrap walnut I had laying around. I got the kits from Rockler.com
For practice, you can't beat the price of cutting boards at discount stores for making pen and pencil blanks.
