Project Information

Here is a saw I just finished up this weekend. I have taken a little break from building furniture over the last few months to dip into the joys of tool making. Next step is learning the ins and outs of tempering steel in order to make a set of chisels.

If you haven't built a saw and are thinking about it send me a message. I can give you the resources to obtain all the parts you need for less than the price of a new saw.

-17" Blade
-11TPI Crosscut
-5 3/4" Depth
-Cocobolo Handle

Very nice. Does the extra tall blade make starting the cut difficult?

It is pretty easy to get started even with the height. I used a 5/8" spine instead of a 3/4" to keep it less top heavy. I was expecting it to take some muscling to get started out but it's actually quite user friendly.
