Project Information

I thought spending $20 for a piece of stamped metal to hold my clamps was kinda silly, so I made my ghetto clamp rack from a couple pieces of plywood left over from my wall cabinet project

It's two pieces of 3/4 plywood scrap. I cut notches for the clamps to sit in so I wouldn't have to mess with clamping them to the rack, and left some un-notched room on the end for my quick-grips to clamp to.

It hangs on the wall. It holds clamps. That is all. One day I should probably make a lower rack to keep the bars straight, but lets be honest- I probably won't.

What's so ghetto about fabbing up a basic clamp rack? I would think Ghetto would be a stolen shopping cart…

I keep the stolen shopping carts in the back yard, no room in the shop.

LOL, great title! That looks about the same as my clamp rack but I didn't bother cutting any notches, just clamp them to an L-shape pair of 1"x4"s that's hung on the wall.

FWIW, My clamp racks are simple 2×2 cutoffs screwed to 2×4 cutoffs that are screwed into the studs. Solid, effective, and with some Minwax Golden Pecan stain, not exactly unattractive…

See, its the Golden Pecan stain that makes yours not ghetto with its rich color :)

Shopping cart on its side makes a good BBQ grill, now that's 'ghetto'!

I like simple and efficient and your rack has them both!

Thanks for the post. My clamps are leaning up against the wall in the closet. I have to make me one of these.
