Project Information

I have been really busy lately starting on Christmas orders. This is ten little sleds I made for my Niece to paint. Over the past years I made these and my Son would paint them so this year my Niece wanted to give them a try. I have already got request for several more of the blank sleds for others to decorate this year. I may be on to something! Pic three is my young cat Zoey posing for her portrait and pic 4 is two years ago finished product. Simple project but sometimes those are the best.

Nice little sleds Jeff,
Having your niece in the shop helping out is a big plus! Hope to see her work posted here as well.

Jeff, that is a cool idea. They really look nice . Give these out to the kids and have them personalize them will make them very happy and occupied. Simple but effective.

Thanks for the comments guys and the new ideas. Tony, I'll get some pic of her finished sleds for here. Dave, that would be a great idea for a teacher for his/her class! I buy the 1/4 inch poplar sheet for 2.50 and get 10 sleds out of it. That's .25 cents a sled donated. I may put the word out! Even with donated items, shop time is good time!

Great little project, Jeff! Love the kitty pic. Gives it scale. Only about 1/4 the size I was imagining. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. Candy, the kitty does give scale. I didn't realize I didn't have that. I have made bigger sleds but most tend to like these better. And they are more fun to make! These are only about six inches long. Vicki, We hang ours up at Christmas but I bet they would look nice on a tree! My Son is quite the artist and has done many "finishing touches" for me. Kitty Zoey says thank you for the compliments. Little spoiled glamour kitty.

Really cool! Do they fly down the hill in formation like that? :)
