Showcase cover image for Geometric stool

Project Information

Hello,at this time I would like to share my new Project. It is a new stool or bench.

Few days ago I and my 7yo daugther was talking about geometric figures. It was her issue that day at school.
I had the idea of making a stool using that figures.I used a circle, triangle, square and rectangle. She loved the idea.
So I used a scrap pine to do the mock-up and in a soon future I'll make using good quality wood.
I did it in a 8yo child size.It is sturdy and stable.

Here the 3D model

pine pieces

I kept the nails marks.

The imaginary triangle on base define how stable the stool can be.

This stool has a seat size 16×12".If it is 15×13" will be more stable.
The main idea is search an equilateral triangle on base.

The 20 liters of water is at the maximum position before the stool fall.

For other view.If the rectangle is shorter more stable based on imaginary triangle.

Equilateral triangle on base will be always more stable

Here the dimensions of my stool.A little far to a equilateral trinagle.

Thanks for attention

Very much in fashion. How is the stability if your weight shifts to the edge?
