Project Information

Some more Christmas gifts that have already been given, so I can now post. Some of you may be able to tell what these are from the title and the 2nd picture. For those of you that are not sure.. they are dice rolling trays for Dungeons & Dragons. I play with a small group of friends that have been playing for a number of years more then I have been involved. These were used today and seemed to mostly solve the problem of dice running away from us and across the room.
These were a fun project for me as I kind of tried some different things, including the octagon, and got wok on my miters which I have not done a lot of. I also did some resawing in order to make the box with the dice in it for myself. I had a large block of Jobilo that was on sale a bit ago. The bottoms are all 1/4 birch covered in simulated dragon skin.

Thanks, for looking. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Ha! Some friends recently roped me into an occasional game after work. I'd never played before. They already want me to use my woodworking powers to build them a dice tower. We'll see…

Nice boxes!

Gary, I have seen the dice tower on you tube and a couple of other websites, An interesting concept. We travel around between 3 houses to play and already cart way too many books and such to add a dice tower, but who knows may have to try to build one. I made sure these trays would fit into our bags of books.

Hope you like the games, they can be a lot of fun.

Great project for using small pieces of wood.
Not being a player, I would use them for nuts. :)
They look great.

Freaky, I have the Grey with Red numbers and the "Camo" set, at least that's what I call them. I got them probably 20 years ago so I'm guessing your group has been doing this for a while. I haven't played in about 5 years now.

ps. you may want to check out the scripting section of my web site. There is a d20 character generator in there that I made.
