Project Information

3 game boards for a game called Fast Track.

Made of solid maple, cut into 1.25" strips and glued/clamped/plane/drum sander. Measures 20" across and are 1.25" thick. I added a 35 degree angle along the bottom edges to make easier to handle. Started by making a template and penciling on each board. Then used wood burner to burn in. Painted w 3 coats using testor enamel paints and outlined w black oil paint marker. Finished w 3 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane aerosol. With painting and finish complete I drilled out the holes and counter-sunk. Sanded to 1000 grit. I rubbed down with piece of brown paper bag to get ultra smooth and lastly applied a coat of turtlewax polish. Added felt to the bottoms using tacky glue. Each player uses 4 golf tees to play.

They look great. I love the finish. I tried my hand at marble boards this year. Not as good a job as yours.
