Project Information

Ok so… birch plywood scraps plus boredom equals…. this?! Yep finally did a band saw box and as usual I did it in a very non traditional way. instead of gluing all the layers of plywood together and then cutting the back off, I just left it off till I had cut out the body of the box :) I then used the body to trace out the shape of the back and cut it out. To get such a tight radius I used a 1/8", 15 tooth per inch blade. after it was all glued I attacked it with a dremel with a sanding drum in it and blended the back to the box. The stains are golden oak for the body and red oak for the drawer. Enjoy

Nice! Now that I've got a decent bandsaw I've been thinking about trying some of these, and I like the idea of "practicing" on ply if I can get such stunning results! Favorited.

Is the handle hardwood?
