Project Information

This project was one that I had in my head for quite a while. It was a pretty fune experimental project. I had a basic understanding of how an electric guitar is put together and wired and just went for it. I borrowed the neck from my first electric guitar that i was never playing. Customized the headstock a little bit and bought new tuning machines. Originally the design did not include the plate on the front for the pickup, but I accidentally drilled all the way through the guitar while making the space for electronics in the back. I think it came out all right in the end. There isnt any finish on the wood at this point, I kind of like it that way. Nice looking project and interesting design. Good photos. Are you going to make any more of them? I'll bet they would sell.

nobuckle - I havnt recorded any videos of myself playing this particular guitar. It honestly doesnt sound that great and has a constant buzzing sound when plugged in…might be something wrong with the input jack. Heres one of my songs on an acoustic:

rowdy - I was asked to make one for a friend of mine, but his parents decided that they werent going to get him one, but might in the future.

Logan it sounds like you have an earth loop on your wiring. Is the bridge earthed? I like the back to basics look of your guitar it's the kind of design that would fit with a lot of young players, Is that a modified Telecaster neck I see?

Trevor,
By earthed do you mean grounded? The bridge is definitely grounded, but it wont stop buzzing slightly whenever I want to take the volume up to a decent level. The neck is a modified Tele. I got inspiration for the headstock from Parker guitars.

Logan: My son and I also built an electric guitar, and had some major buzzing when turned on. All it turned out to be was a lousy solder joint! We went thru and re-did all the solder joints and voila!!!now I just gotta take it apart and level all the frets!
