Project Information

For Rent: Seven new units in the area's hottest new bird condo development. Immediate possession. Plenty of bugs, lake near by, new landscaping, and no cats.

I actually have to say a special thanks to Lumber Jock PD's for this project. He has a very nice one with grape vine and cedar trim. Have a look at it here http://lumberjocks.com/projects/97338 . When I showed his version to my wife she wanted one so I took the opportunity to combine his wonderful design with a bird house for our garden.

The entire thing is built from pallet wood. The finish is three colors of clear stain (white over blue over green) covered with a coat of clear poly. Now if I can just get the birds moved in!

Oh, and she picked up wild flower seeds on the last trip to Farm Supply and she filled the pot with dirt just after I took the last picture….should be about 6 weeks till it is full of color.

I love it! How much does the Penthouse go for? I have to add this to my to-do list. We have a lot of homeless birds in Waco.

Great job. On the next one, instead of flowers, build in a small bird bath and a feeder…I did something like this as well

Thanks Haw,

The bird bath is a good idea. I could build it around a small tank with a float valve from a stock tank. That way it would stay full all the time and it would give the dogs a place to drink when they go to the garden with us. As for a feeder, birds that nest in colony's are typically insectivores and around our garden there is plenty for them to eat!

Holy cow! That looks just like my neighbors!

Wait! It is my neighbors. I can see it from my front porch, for heaven's sakes.

Nice job there, neighbor. Looking forward to seeing residents in it. You just might deserve a barley pop.
