Project Information

I made a quick and easy folding extension table for my Sailrite Leatherwork sewing machine. It's quite useful for this application, and the folding shelf brackets might prove helpful for other shop projects as well.

Here's the video…

Made from 1" thick MDF, stainless steel folding shelf brackets, and assorted hardware.

The MDF was sprayed with lacquer to match the factory table.

Can't argue with that functionality! Good choice for being "snag free" with any cloth sliding over it.

I couldn't post a photo on a message so I did it here.

Us old timers use the end of a thin feather board at an angle to setup for multiple cuts to avoid the narrow pieces between the fence and the blade. It's much safer this way.


Now they even make jigs like this with bearings on their tips.
