Nice looking addition to the shop. I am planning to do a bit of a shop remodel and this concept is in the running for a few tools.

Is there a pivot hinge hidden underneath, or do you lift it up and flip it by hand?

I have seen so many different plans for this sort of cart and have always thought that it would be nice to have in the shop. You may have just inspired me to get on the bandwagon and get one made. Nice job. How secure is it when you lock the flip panel in place?

Mine works great! Two tools for the real estate of one. :)

5/8" aluminum rod about 5 inches long on each side for the pivot.

@Brad - in my shop, those cans would fall off onto the floor. It is very uneven and rough. :-(

I have always wanted to build this. I have the plans for this cart. How long did the build take you? Also is that the JET 10-20 sander? If so how do you like it? Just being a hobbyist I don't have the money to spend $1500 on a drum sander but I have been eyeing that one. Great job on the build!!

Very secure. It has small plywood tabs that are bolted to the top and spin out of the way when rotating that hold the top in place very well. I get no vibration when planing. The cans and jars stay put. They do move a little when rolling the cart. But that could be because I bought the cheapest ( cost and quality) wheels. Yes its the Jet sander. My only complaint about it is I wish I would have bought a bigger on. Its tough sanding wide and long table tops or dresser tops. For smaller projects its great.
