I like everything about this. Love the banding, and the brass knob. I may use the banding on a future box build. Thanks for the post MrLaughingBrook!

Beautiful work. Your wood stash is what many dream of, and you use it so well.

Brilliant metal work as well.

You didn't say, what is their size? Titled as trunks, but compared to the tools around them appear to be more small box sized?

However, before thousands of other members ask… why 5?

Thanks for the kind comments.

- Size is 6×4 x 2.5 H inches, maybe I should not call them trunks but that's what they look like to me.
- Shellac and Renaissance Wax
- Five of them because the sixth was sacrificed at the router table :(. Initially six because that's how many small scrap pieces I had saved from my prior nightstand project.
- Christmas presents? Maybe. I'm building a box inventory in hopes that next year we'll have art shows again and I'll have something to show.

re: so many? I like to sell a set. Perfect for groomsman gifts or staff or crew or family holiday gift box. They seem to be worth more as a set than as a sum of the singles.
