Project Information

It was too hot in the barn for working so I rolled out my new lathe stand turned 5 pens out on the east side of the barn later when the sun went way west!.
Two are African Blackwood, two are Mesquite and one is Olive wood. They are finished with EEE and Shellawax.

The new Delrin bushings I made worked real good in that they never turned the wood black like the brass ones did when I hit them with EEE . However, the ends crush a bit from the pressure needed to turn the blanks so I need to make a good supply of them.

I found some real nice pen gift boxes from a place called Amsterdam so I bought a bunch and they will be given with each pens sold.

cheers, Jim

Thanks, Brian. That is a Grizzly knife buffer.( I got it for free). I planned on using it for buffing brass and steel on one side and wood on the other. But it goes too fast for my Beall buffers-3400 rpm. I'm looking for a speed control for it. It is an induction motor and draws about 13 amps. I tried my router speed control but it did not work. do you know of any that might work?

Cheers, Jim
