Project Information
I turned this today on my Shopsmith Mark V. The only other thing I had turned previously was some 3/4" dowels for bench dogs. My wife and I chopped down a small oak tree on my son's and daughter-in-law's property yesterday, and I decided to make my DIL a rolling pin from their tree. It's 18" long overall with 12" of straight rolling space. The diameter is 2-1/2". Next time I'll use calipers to make both handles the same. I am not too happy with the handles, but I'm sure I'll get better with practice. Maybe the one I'll make for my wife will turn out better.
