I built this tenor ukulele over the course of a few months. The design is taken from those made by Luis Fue de Mesquita (LFDM) with permission.
I've never made an instrument before this one and now I'm hooked. This was a heck of a lot of fun to figure out, build, and play.
Lacewood sides, sapele top and back. Lacewood and Ambonya burl appointments and binding. Torrefied spruce internal bracing. Mahogany kerfing. Macassar ebony fingerboard. Spanish cedar neck. Ebony bridge.
With the exception of the bridge, kerfing, and metal parts I made everything from scratch. I even painstakingly cut the very precise fret slots with a homemade jig.
Finished with homebrewed lacquer in the French Polish process: 25 coats.
I have another similar one on the bench right now.
