Project Information
I was at Woodcraft yesterday and after a bit of work on some old wood hand planes i couldn't help but buy a Hock iron and build my own. I used some American Elm (I know, it's somewhat soft but it's free!). It's a bevel down Krenov style that cuts great and I couldn't be happier with my first result. 45 deg bed and 60 deg throat face. Pics are several stages of the build. Overall dimensions are 2×2x6 inches.
