First attempt at a Butchers Block

Ok, so I had an old kitchen table made from rubberwood strips and I moved house, I had to cut the table down to fit in the new place and was left with some rubberwood. I also had a few strips of wenge left over from a previous project (man that stuff is hard to work!!!) and so I set to work gluing it together and had some fun coming up with a kinda pattern.
Glued it all up and got to work with a low angle block plane, sanded and finished it with sunflower oil.
It now resides in my partners kitchen, except she likes it so much, she wont use it.
Go figure!
