Project Information

I found a few pieces of spalted fiddle back maple in our firewood that we collected for heat last winter. The pieces were about 2' long, cuvred and frankly twisted looking. It was'nt untill I ran them thru my 17" bandsaw did I discover the treasure with in!!! The mahogany top, bottom and cabriole legs were fron old door trim from a remodel. Notice the 5 bookmatched drawer fronts ! !
The pull out necklace slde has particularly stiking grain paterns. The drawers are also made of spalted maple as well. The style and rail sides have bookmatched panels as well as the slide out.

Beautiful save. I really like the attention to detail with all the bookmatching. It amazes me to think of how many great pieces like this have literally gone up in smoke because there wasn't someone with an eye like yours to see the potential.
