Project Information

Someone cut the top off of their ficus tree. The tree then grew 5 branches out sideways from the cut end, and barked over the original cut. When that tree was later cut down, I grabbed that interesting section and turned it into this egg shaped bowl/vase with 5 "bulls eyes" around the sides where the branches had grown out. Finished with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal.

Beautiful work. I have some ficus in my garage, this reminds me I should do something with it.

That really is amazing looking. Good for you to pick up on such a special and unusual situation. That would have been a nightmare to try and split for firewood anyway.

Good job turning and a nice looking "egg" vase.
