This is my playground on weekends and evenings working with wood and leather. Attached 2 car garage (22' x 24') that is too small to have a good layout for all the tools. Most big tools are on wheels to move around to use (or out of the way) Small portable tools are in cabinets or drawers to keep some kind of organization. Try to put tools back in their place when done using them - they are easier to find the next time I need them. Also try to clean up majority of sawdust every night to help with dust control in the house. Jamie is super understanding about me getting dust everywhere in the house a lot. Have an adjacent un-heated garage that is 20'x20' which works well for storage.
Have upgraded some tools the last few years but still have a lot that I bought in the 70's. during the start of my building career. Still use all the hand tools that I had since high school, planes, saws chisels etc.) My main table saw is a 1972 Craftsman that I bought at an auction for $50 in 1980. Would be nice to upgrade to a more accurate fence for the saw. Have a built-in router table with an Incra lift on the right side and a fence with dust collection that works well so is hard to part with my old system.
Other power tools include a small benchtop 10" table saw on a stand, An old Rockwell 8" miter saw, 12" compound Dewalt, Rigid oscillating belt / spindle sander, HF 36" lathe and small benchtop drill press. Also have several Grizzly tools which have given me great service. Grizzly tools include early model 12" planer, Anniversary edition 14" band saw, 16" scroll saw, 1"x30" belt sander, 10" wet sharpening with all the attachments, and a universal knife grinder for planer / jointer blades.
I like to collect tools as much as woodworking so it seems like a good problem to me. Hope these pictures give you an idea of my shop and as always feel free to look at my website as there are more pictures of tools and jigs I have built over the years.
Hope you enjoy my small shop as much as I like looking at other shops.
