Project Information
On a Father's Day some 10 years ago, I took my daughter to Home Depot which organized a "Make A Father's Day Gift for Dad" family event. Together we completed a toolbox using the supplied tools and materials. The toolbox was used as a garden tool box and was discarded a few years ago after its useful life.
This past Sunday, dad and daughter teamed up again and completed a bed side table. This time, the event should be named as "Get Dad to Make a Gift on Father's Day for Me." Here are a few pictures of our work, including the project and 'artist's' sketches. (She designed and painted the false drawer front to match the table lamp. Her idea was that if one day the bed side table is to be disposed of, she'll keep the fish plaque and hang it on the wall or something. OK, for a non-woodworker like her, the heirloom piece is the plaque, not the table!).
Wonder what the Father's Day project 2020 will be like.
Project Stats:
Cost: Under $10
Material / Finish: Pine / Honey Pine Polyshade and Acrylic paints
Time used: 8 hours or so (made possible by the use of pocket hole joinery)
Status: Not For Sale
Value: Priceless
