Project Information

Here is my second box. This one I made for my Dad for Fathers Day last year. It was my first attempt at inlay, albeit pretty simple, but I think it came out pretty nice. Most importantly, my Dad loved it! The top is birdseye maple with purpleheart inlays and the casing is made of Brazilian Cherry with White Guayana Rosewood miter keys. The top is hinged with a copper rod and I lined it with blue velvet. I finished it with several layers of semi-gloss poly and sanded with 0000 steel wool in between coats. Thanks for looking and, as always, all comments are welcome!

That's a beautiful box. A fitting use of that amazing Birdseye maple. Nice work on the inlay too.
